New Releases for Autumn 2020

In the Southern Hemisphere, the month of March marks the beginning of Autumn – the season of cooler weather and falling leaves.

In the lead-up to Autumn, through the on-going drought, the devestating bushfires and the welcome flooding rains of February (contrasts so typical of the Australian landscape), I have been working on some new choral arrangements for release at the beginning of Autumn 2020.

And here they are – check them out.

“I Still Call Australia Home”, with piano accompaniment

Back in March 2019 I released two a cappella arrangements (SATB and SSAA) of Peter Allen’s “I Still Call Australia Home”. Over the last twelve months both these have been selling well, mainly to Australian choirs (no surprises there!). But I also received some comments to the effect that it would be great to have some accompanied options.

Well, your requests have been noted and I am pleased to be able to advise that I have just released four versions with piano accompaniment – SATB for adult mixed choir; SSA for ladies choir; SAB suitable for secondary school and youth choirs; and a 2-Part for primary school and junior community choirs.

So now everyone can enjoy singing and performing this great piece of Australiana.

“Fame”

In 1980, the motion picture “Fame” burst on to the scene and made an immediate impact on the music scene. Such was the popularity of this multi-award-winning film that it spawned a TV series that ran for five years; two stage musicals; and a film remake released in 2009.

The movie’s title song nicely captures the spirit of the young performing arts students at New York’s High School of Performing Arts, as they pursue their studies, determined to achieve fame and, by so doing, make sure that people will always remember their names.

Here are two arrangements for SSA and SABar choirs with piano accompaniment.
