Project Description
Lift Me Up is the the lead single from the soundtrack album of the 2022 Marvel motion picture “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”.
The song was written by Ludwig Göransson, Robyn Fenty (Rihanna), Ryan Coogler and Temilade Openiyi (Tems). It was intended as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman who played the title role of T’Challa (Black Panther) in the first of the Black Panther movies. Sadly, he died in August 2020. Speaking about the meaning and creative process for the song, Tems said, “After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life. I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them. Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honour“.
Lift Me Up reached number one in Belgium, Hungary, Switzerland, and South Africa; number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 Chart; top five in Australia, the United Kingdom and France; and the top ten in various other countries.
This arrangement is available for SATB, SAB, SSA, SS (2-Part upper voices) and SA (2-Part original key) choirs. All arrangements have soloist and piano accompaniment.
